  1. The S.O.S. Band. The S.O.S. Band (sometimes written SOS Band; abbreviation for Sounds Of Success) is an American R&B and electro-funk group who gained fame in the s. They are best known for the songs "Take Your Time (Do It Right)," "Just Be Good to Me.

  4. The biggest hit off this album, the sexy and pulsating “Just Be Good To Me”, is a perfect slice of early 80’s R&B and became a sizable hit on various formats, hitting #55 on Billboard’s Top singles chart and also placing at #2 spot on the R&B and Dance charts/5(44).

  6. The tinny Reggie Thompson/Scott Folks remix of “Just Be Good to Me” is here instead of the preferred album or eight-minute version, but even so, the disc is essential for any ‘80s R&B fan -- disciples of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis' productions especially -- who doesn’t have all the original vinyl releases.

  8. Jul 31,  · Bit of an old skool gem- alot of people don't know about this version from the early 80's, has a real 80's electro feel to it- the cover by Norman Cook (a.k.a. Fatboy Slim) was a very successful UK version with his band Beats International who took the song to number one as "Dub Be Good to Me" that was a good cover in my opinion- it's a shame about one of the most recent uses of it in the /5().
